Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): PstI--3.8, 0.5; SalI--4.3; PvuII--4.3; BamHI--4.3; HindIII--4.3. The insert includes the entire coding sequence (plus part of signal peptide), 144 bp of the 3' untranslated region, and poly(A) tail. The insert corresponds to mRNA coding for entire plasma form of APOC2. The polymorphic TaqI site is about 2 kb 3' of APOC2 gene; the site is in linkage disequilibrium with BanI site. |
