Applications |
IHD-W is the strain used by Dales to develop a large group of ts mutants in the 1970s. The host range includes most mammalian cells and tissues. Vaccination recommended for lab staff manipulating vaccinia, monkeypox, or cowpox viruses (CDC/NIH Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories, 4th ed, 1999 - stock no. Biosafety Level |
2
Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country. |
Isolation |
The IHD-W subtype was derived in Japan from IHD-J strain of
vaccinia by selection for the ability to induce distinct clear plaques in culture. |

Comments |
IHD-W is the strain used by Dales to develop a large group of ts mutants in the 1970s. IHD-W differs from the IHD-J parent strain, in that IHD-W is unable to induce an active hemagglutinin in the plasma membrane and does elicit polykaryoctosis. 017-040-00547-4). IHD-W is the strain used by Dales to develop a large group of ts mutants in the 1970s. IHD-W differs from IHD-J in that IHD-W is HA(-) and IHD-J is HA(+). -70C |
